Welcome to
SOCH
A Message from Joseph P. Coyle, President
and CEO & Paul J. Carr, Esq., Chairman, Board of Trustees
Southern Ocean County is one of the
fastest growing areas in the state, and it’s not hard to understand why. The people
who proudly call our seashore community home enjoy beautiful beaches,
recreational fishing and boating, cultural activities, fine dining
and the natural beauty of our abundant parks. Therefore,
it comes as no surprise that the year-round population continues
to grow at a breath-taking pace; and during the summer months,
visitors to the area number in the tens of thousands.
At the center of this thriving community
is Southern Ocean County Hospital, a beacon of medical excellence
and a vibrant healthcare resource our residents and visitors
can depend on to be here today and well into the future. This
promise to our community is possible, thanks to more than 230
physicians and over 1,000 dedicated and skilled healthcare professionals
who care for the sick, diagnosis and treat disease, and promote
injury prevention and wellness.
Our sprawling main campus on Route 72 East
in Manahawkin features 176 inpatient beds, including a state-of-the-art
Critical Care Unit; advanced imaging technology, including a multi-slice
CT Scanner and Positron Emission Tomography (PET); and sophisticated
procedures such as Cardiac Catheterization and Interventional Radiology.
Our achievements extend beyond the walls
of our main campus in Manahawkin, and into the community, where
our Family Resource Center sponsors educational classes, seminars,
support groups and screening programs all designed to promote
healthy living. The Ocean
Club in Stafford Township earned national recognition for its successful
approach to integrating fitness into an overall health and wellness
program. What’s more, in recent years, SOCH has twice
earned state-wide distinction from the New Jersey Hospital Association
(NJHA) for comprehensive wellness programs. In addition,
SOCH has partnered with NJHA and a select group of New Jersey hospitals
by participating in the ICU Collaborative; an ambitious effort
to improve the quality of care for the Hospital’s sickest
patients.
Each and every day at SOCH, our physicians,
nurses, healthcare professionals, support staff and volunteers
come together to capture the spirit of compassionate care and
medical excellence that has defined our organization for more
the 30 years. It is our
way of assuring that we remain true to our vision to provide each
patient with a remarkable healthcare experience.
