Emergency Services

The Emergency Department at SOCH offers full service emergency medical care to the community 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and receives more than 35,000 visits each year.

The Emergency Department is equipped to handle trauma, cardiac emergencies, stroke, crisis intervention and orthopedic emergencies with a dedicated trauma room, cardiac treatment room, orthopedic treatment room and pediatric treatment room for children. Patients suffering from a heart attack and/or a stroke undergo clinical assessment immediately to determine if the patient is an appropriate candidate for clot-dissolving treatment or cardiac stabilization.

The Emergency Department is staffed with highly qualified physicians that specialize in emergency care and dedicated emergency nurses certified in advanced cardiac and pediatric life support, trauma care and emergency medicine.
